But the matte surface on the back of this one doesn’t seem to make the phone easier to hold, it makes it harder. I feel like the phone actually slides out of my hand considerably easier on the 3 XL case.

I’ve done a side by side comparison with my 2 XL and Spigen’s thin fit case without that matte surface.

I wish they would just make a version of this case like the previous models. I’ve been handing my phones around to people and asking them to tell me what’s different and every single person points out how slippery the new case is compared to the thin fit on the 2XL.

This case may be thin, but it’s terrible quality. I used this case for weeks and have never handled it roughly or dropped it once.

The other day I found a piece of plastic while vacuuming my house and didn’t know where it came from, today I realized it had just chipped off for no reason while I was playing games in basketball shorts near my couch.

The plastic is terrible quality and brittle, it won’t protect your phone at all. First off let me say this is a great case if you don’t like to add bulk to your phone but still want a little protection.

I had this same line of case for my Pixel 2 XL and it was what I used most often. In my opinion this year’s offering for the Pixel 3 XL is excellent.

I suppose something had to give? If you’re looking for a phone with a lot of drop protection, this is not for you. I have purchased multiple thin fit cases for my Pixel 3 XL and this is the only worthy one I’ve yet to find for a few reasons.

It allows for much easier swiping especially at the top.

I purchased another one of these “thin grip” cases and it was like ice in the hand. Not this case. It adds practically no weight to the phone.

If the whole case was made of this grip material it would be an easy 5 stars. That said, I have multiple cases now and this is the one that’s stayed on my phone for an extended period of time.

I’ve been buying Spigen cases for years. I’ve had 3 different thin fit spigen cases for my last iphones and loved them. They had this really grippy material which felt like hard rubber.
