Not quite sure with a Blu phone but with most Android phones to get into safe mode, turn the phone off by pressing the Power button.

The only way to get files and pictures off the device is to move them to the external storage and then remove it from the phone and take them off the card…I could go on a rant but I always learn the hard way.
