No lag at all and I wouldn’t expect it as all the app on the phone does in most cases is send instructions to Chromecast to go on the web and watch a video for instance on netflix.

Vodafone smart ultra 6 not optimised for Chromecast. I have recently purchased a google Chromecast streaming device to use with my Vodafone smart ultra 6 to cast content to my TV.

I have only now realised the Vodafone smart ultra 6 is not optimised to run Chromecast.

That is not to say Chromecast will not work. It will work but may cause lagging or problems. An update to bring optimisation for Chromecast to the Vodafone smart ultra 6 would be greatly appropriated.

No lagging yet just thought it may on certain stuff I am streaming like mobdro for streaming live TV channels and sports.

You are in the same boat as me. Same Chromecast same phone. So if it works for you it should cobtinue to work for me.

Thanks for clearing that up. No, you can ignore the support chart as not all devices are listed. Stream is different to using chromecast app.

The chrome cast is a dum device in most cases and the chromecast app just tells it to access such and such a website and play what you want.

Mobdro will also suffer as it’s not an extremely reliable app anyway due to where it gets it’s signals from. But I can assure you all things being equal I have no problems with lag using either the chromecast or allcast apps on my ultra 6.

I have mb broadband and wifi n speeds of about mbps. Community Manager.

08.03.2020 – Your wifi wil work again When it turn on wifi works as I see data transfering and occasionally app update occuring but when I see smartband connecting wifi stops working. Turn on suggestions. I would use mirroring a lot if it can work. Community Manager.

Do you know why this is? My Chromecast is connected and works with apps like YouTube and Spotify because they are able to cast without mirroring of screen.

I dont use that but now that I’ve tried it i can see it’s not working on the ultra.

I use Allcast app for any other streaming I want. Polaris office also works with screen casting for docs and such. Does all cast work for most other apps not natively supported by Chromecast.

I thought any android 5. Device support must be needed for this feature. Hopefully Vodafone can bring an update to gain this support. This will allow any app to be seen on a TV from phone or tablet.

I would use mirroring a lot if it can work. Actually just go into settings on your device and click display then choose screen cast, Hey presto Cookie Vodafone Community Expert or so I’m told and S10 owner.

Can be hit and miss with fluidity of screen mirroring. Anyway it works and that’s a start. Was able to watch the gold from sky sports 4 mirroring it into TV.

Works fairly well. But if freezing and once or twice disconnected. Downloaded allcast will try it out later. What speeds have you on your broadband and what wifi signal are you broadcasting a, b, g, n.
